1872 meat can
(2021-09-30)

Really pleased. I've only seen 2 and they were in sad shape. I'm surprised at the thickness of the metal and the finish. Very happy with it.
Now all I need is an 1872 haversack to put it in.
Do you still stock them or have you discontinued them?
Thank you for making a very rare item.
Sincerely, R.J.Gray

Like others, I never thought I'd see an affordable reproduction of this item. Would recommend.
Gotta Have It

I never thought I'd have this relatively short-lived meat can, and pretty much wrote off finding/affording an original. But WPG did it! I can see why the Army went with the M1874 meat can, but when it comes to doing history correctly, details matter!
Excellent

I'd given up hope on finding a reproduction of the '72 meat can. This is well made and a great addition to my kit.

Another Great W.P.G. Report
(2017-11-28)

A great price on a complicated product. Never thought I'd see a report of these. I have an 1872 haversack by someone else, but the meat can fit right into its pocket. And prompt delivery too. Thanks!

This is an amazing reproduction of an American icon! Never thought I'd see the day this rare piece would be avaiable as a reproduction. It is a crucial component to the 1872 equipment system which, has all been reproduced by W.P.G.s expert team. This thing is ready to go. Cram it full of salt pork stowe it in the equally nice 72 haversack and go. You will not be disappointed.
