I ordered a large as I have size 11 feet (North American sizing), but should probably have ordered a medium as my feet are very narrow. They will work fine though for wear with my Scottish kilts, and the quality is very nice, but the tops that fold over are extremely tight and my calves only measure 15”. They will hopefully loosen up a bit with wear. Overall, highly recommended.

I guessed on a large vs medium size, and that worked well ... once washed, given a little shrinkage. But mostly I was impressed on how nicely made these were! Thick, soft, smooth weave that I associate with more expensive hosery.

These are beautiful socks, but something needs to be borne in mind: WWII soldiers tended to be leaner than the average man is today. If you are not as lean as they were, consider wearing the larger size or wearing long trousers and shorter socks.
