US 2nd Pattern Jungle Boots

These are reproductions of the second model of Boots, Combat Tropical. This pattern was issued in the mid-1960s. They do not feature the ankle reinforcement added to the third pattern in 1967.

All sizes of these boots are Wide. The boots fit the foot perfectly and are surprisingly comfortable. The leather is supple and soft, suggesting that regular sizes should not be an issue for fitting.

The construction seems durable and more than adequate for reenacting. The boots are described as strong and of good workmanship. However, some boots have arrived with damage, such as holes in the canvas, and there are instances of soles detaching after short periods of wear.

This second pattern model features nylon webbing reinforcements at the top and back of the boot. It is distinct from the third pattern as it does not include ankle reinforcement. The reproduction does not replicate the original nylon mesh insole.

These boots are suitable for Vietnam impressions and reenacting. They are also comfortable enough for everyday wear. The boots are a good option for collectors seeking a realistic alternative to original items.

The sole is a little less firm than an original pair of this version. Despite this, the correct sole is present, which is appreciated by collectors. However, some boots have experienced issues with the soles detaching after minimal use.
