These bags copy all the features of the original one right down to the brass eyelets on the bottom, the metal disc on the side, and all the internal pockets and dividers (one small omission – the center divider is not further divided into two compartments).

THIS IS THE BAG ONLY WITHOUT ANY STRAP. IF YOU WANT A LEATHER STRAP YOU MUST ORDER IT SEPARATELY BY CLICKING THE BOX BELOW.

THE STORY: The original Indiana Jones bag was a British Army surplus Mk VII respirator bag. I purchased the entire world's supply several years ago -found them in a huge warehouse full of dusty wooden crates - and promptly sold out of them. After searching the world for years for more of them, in caves, tombs, and secret submarine bases, I concluded that they are extinct, so I made up 1000 new ones. Those bags promptly sold out to delighted IJ fans around the world, and demand seems to be endless, so I have now made up another 1000.

THE BAG: These bags copy all the features of the original one right down to the brass eyelets on the bottom, the metal disc on the side, and all the internal pockets and dividers (one small omission – the center divider is not further divided into two compartments). Bag made of real cotton canvas.

HOW TO ATTACH THE LEATHER STRAP TO THE BAG?
Remove the brass chicago screw from the end of the strap. Thread that end of strap through one ring on the bag, through the buckle on the strap, and attach the end to the other ring on the bag using the chicago screw.

Is the bag supplied with a strap?

The bag is sold without a strap. A leather strap must be ordered separately if one is desired. The strap is attached by removing a brass Chicago screw, threading the strap through the bag's rings and buckle, then reattaching the screw. Instructions for attaching the strap are not included with the bag, but can be found online.

What are the dimensions of the bag?

The bag measures 11 inches in height, 11 inches in length, and 3 inches in thickness. These dimensions are consistent with the original Mark VII respirator bag. The bag's internal layout includes pockets and dividers, which contribute to its practical use.

What material is the bag made from?

The bag is made from real cotton canvas. The canvas is described as being thicker and stronger in this reproduction version compared to earlier reproductions. The quality of the canvas is comparable to that of original bags.

How accurate is this reproduction to the original Mark VII bag?

The bag is a faithful reproduction, copying all features of the original Mark VII respirator bag. This includes brass eyelets on the bottom, a metal disc on the side, and all internal pockets and dividers. One minor omission is that the centre divider is not further divided into two compartments.

Are there any known issues with the bag's construction?

Some bags have a snap closure that can pull out with minimal pressure, leaving ragged edges that cannot be re-crimped. Other bags have a hard-to-pull-off snap with a loose male end, which may lead to the snap ripping off the canvas with repeated use. There may also be a few loose threads inside the bag.

How can the bag be "seasoned" for a more authentic look?

To achieve a more realistic, worn appearance, the bag can be completely wet and hand-wrung out. Shaping it and allowing it to air dry will create realistic wrinkles. A sock containing Fuller's Earth can then be used to dust the bag.
