Gurkha Shorts.
Officially known as "Shorts, KD, 1949 Pattern,"
these shorts became famously popular as "Gurkha
Shorts" during a 1980's fashion craze. WPG fans
have asked for these shorts for years, and now
we have them. Made of sturdy khaki drill like
the originals, not the flimsy Chinese made
copies. Two side slash pockets, no back pockets.
Inseam 12 inches. Crossover front waistband with
two side buckles and lots of pleats. These are
high waisted, so measure your size at navel

UK Commando Bergen Rucksack. These are near
perfect copies of the WWII style Bergen used by Commandos, SAS, Mountain
troops and others. These copies were made in the 1970's. Color is dark
OD same as 1944-45 production bergens. The only differences are blue
steel strap tips instead of brass, and haul loops sewn onto the front of
the shoulder straps (easily removed). Comes complete with steel frame
and all the accessory straps. $85

Blanco
(Substitute).
After years of searching for more Blanco, or trying to
get it made, I have settled on Tarrago Shoe Cream as the
best substitute for Blanco in the world. Rubs in with your
fingers, doesn't rub off, no mess. Colors available are
light khaki green for WWI to early WWII, and dark khaki or
olive drab (KG no. 3) for Northwest Europe and Burma. One 50
ml jar should treat a complete set of webbing equipment.

Gunners, sappers and others who wore gumboots

British Wool Pullover Shirt with Collar. Copied from an original item in the WPG collection, this shirt was made for private purchase by members of H.M. Forces (as specified by a label in the original). It is cut similar to the Aertex Desert Shirt. Wool shirts like this worn by officers with battledress, and also saw service on Northwest Frontier of India andin the Burma jungles. It was also popular among Other Ranks for walking out dress as it facilitated wear of a necktie. Made in even chest sizes 40-52. $75

| Gas Detection Brassard. This is a reproduction of the paper arm brassard as originally produced by the British Army (and later copied by the US Army). It is a more brown color than the US version. These are so close to my original that you will need to test them with mustard gas to tell the difference. $8 |

| British Emergency Ration Tin. These tins were part of the basic equipment of many Tommies, but after the first "emergency" the tins were retained as a great waterproof storage container for personal items. My reproduction, unlike the cheaper ones around, is properly embossed on both top and bottom, and includes the rubber gasket in the top that makes this tin so very useful. $15 |

British WWII Style Jackknife. These are postwar Belgian contract versions of the standard British Jackknife with marlinspike. Identical to British except for the ABL marking. These appear unused and come covered in cosmoline, but do have a minor amount of surface rust. $12

Fly Whisk. I searched a long time to find a fly whisk that was suitable for the properly attired Pukka-Sahib Englishman. Absolutely required when delivering classic lines like "I'll have my man clean your kit". Braided leather shaft with horsehair "tail". 22" overall length. A great addition to any off-duty tropical or desert uniform. $14
