Slouch Hat from Akubra. WPG has had a new run of high quality fur felt slouch hats made by Akubra of Australia, world famous as a supplier of slouch hats for many decades. These are the common British Army pattern, with a press stud on the left side to hold up the brim, and a raw brim with no ribbon. Indian Army Khaki Sweater with Pockets and Epaulets. This is the sweater immortalized in the WWII cartoon series "The Two Types." A heavy weight all wool sweater popular with British officers on the Northwest Frontier, it was worn in the Western Desert in WWII as a sign that the wearer had "been there," as opposed to being fresh from Blighty. Gurkha Shorts. Officially known as "Shorts, KD, 1949 Pattern," these shorts became famously popular as "Gurkha Shorts" during a 1980's fashion craze. WPG fans have asked for these shorts for years, and now we have them. Made of sturdy khaki drill like the originals, not the flimsy Chinese made copies. Two side slash pockets, no back pockets. Inseam 12 inches. Crossover front waistband with two side buckles and lots of pleats. These are high waisted, so measure your size at navel height. $38

British Officer Whistle Pouch for Sam Browne Belt. This small leather pouch slides on to the shoulder strap of the Sam Browne belt and holds the cylindrical style whistle. Whistle IS NOT included, order separately. $12 Add to Cart  

UK Commando Bergen Rucksack. These are near perfect copies of the WWII style Bergen used by Commandos, SAS, Mountain troops and others. These copies were made in the 1970's. Color is dark OD same as 1944-45 production bergens. The only differences are blue steel strap tips instead of brass, and haul loops sewn onto the front of the shoulder straps (easily removed). Comes complete with steel frame and all the accessory straps. $85

Blanco (Substitute). After years of searching for more Blanco, or trying to get it made, I have settled on Tarrago Shoe Cream as the best substitute for Blanco in the world. Rubs in with your fingers, doesn't rub off, no mess. Colors available are light khaki green for WWI to early WWII, and dark khaki or olive drab (KG no. 3) for Northwest Europe and Burma. One 50 ml jar should treat a complete set of webbing equipment. Subsequent applications require less. $3  Add to Cart

British Brown WWII Style Mug. New reproduction. British Army mugs changed from white to brown during WWII, and by 1944 this was the more common color. No markings, $9
Royal Navy Sea Boot Socks. New production of heavy white wool knee-high socks worn by all services. The RAF wore them with flight boots. The Royal Navy wore them with sea boots. Gunners, sappers and others who wore gumboots extensively also wore them whenever they could get them. These socks are an amazing quality reproduction at an incredible price. No markings.

New production gray wool socks with cotton/poly blend to minimize shrinkage. These socks are very very similar to the gray wool socks worn by the US Army and Marines in WWI and early WWII, and by the British Army throughout WWI and WWII. Sizes Medium and Large. $7.50 a pair or 3 pair for $20

British Wool Pullover Shirt with Collar. Copied from an original item in the WPG collection, this shirt was made for private purchase by members of H.M. Forces (as specified by a label in the original). It is cut similar to the Aertex Desert Shirt. Wool shirts like this worn by officers with battledress, and also saw service on Northwest Frontier of India andin the Burma jungles. It was also popular among Other Ranks for walking out dress as it facilitated wear of a necktie. Made in even chest sizes 40-52. $75
RAF Escape Compass. This is a beautiful reproduction of the tiny compass issued in many escape kits. Brass body, liquid filled, luminous dots on needle. Virtually indistinguishable from an original. $15
Brown Leather Day Sporran. New production of standard British and Canadian issue day sporran for wear with kilt. Includes leather belt, choice of 42" or 48" length (specify). $25
Toggle Rope. Great reproduction of the toggle rope used by British Paras and Commandos, as well as American Rangers. $18
British Army Issue Towel. New reproduction of this very scarce item. Plain white and unmarked, like many originals. $5
Canadian Emergency Ration Tin (Original). An unopened emergency ration tin made in Canada and dated 1945. These tins are in perfect condition, and still have the key on the bottom for opening. I cannot vouch for the condition of the original contents, but they are still inside. The tin measures 3 3/4 x 2 3/8 x 1 1/4, small enough to go in pockets, escape kits, etc. $35
P44 Water Bottle. WPG has found some of the very rare P44 water bottle with the aluminum cap made only in 1944-45. These bottles are in used perfect condition. No dates or markings. I DID NOT find cups or covers; dont ask. $18
British Officer Brass Rank Stars. Commonly known as rank pips, it is nearly impossible these days to match up originals due to the endless variations of this simple item. These new repros are the larger size, with the dark bronzed finish that was commonly used on both Service Dress and Battledress uniforms. $3 each

British Army Shirt Buttons. I accidentally stumbled on a pile of the metal buttons used on British army collarless wool shirts of WWI and WWII. Most of these are maker marked on the back. 3 for $1.
Web Binocular strap. New made exact reproduction of the khaki web bino strap issued in WWII. Originals are nearly extinct, but customers keep asking for them, so here they are, $9

Gas Detection Brassard. This is a reproduction of the paper arm brassard as originally produced by the British Army (and later copied by the US Army). It is a more brown color than the US version. These are so close to my original that you will need to test them with mustard gas to tell the difference. $8
British Emergency Ration Tin. These tins were part of the basic equipment of many Tommies, but after the first "emergency" the tins were retained as a great waterproof storage container for personal items. My reproduction, unlike the cheaper ones around, is properly embossed on both top and bottom, and includes the rubber gasket in the top that makes this tin so very useful. $15
Ascot scarf. Blue with white dots. Very popular with the RAF crowd and "Pukka Sahibs" when hanging out at Shepheard's in Cairo. $14
British WWII Style Jackknife. These are postwar Belgian contract versions of the standard British Jackknife with marlinspike. Identical to British except for the ABL marking. These appear unused and come covered in cosmoline, but do have a minor amount of surface rust. $12
Fly Whisk. I searched a long time to find a fly whisk that was suitable for the properly attired Pukka-Sahib Englishman. Absolutely required when delivering classic lines like "I'll have my man clean your kit". Braided leather shaft with horsehair "tail". 22" overall length. A great addition to any off-duty tropical or desert uniform. $14
